GIFTS FOR TEACHERS

Give a teacher Bell or Bust

A gift voucher for the full game. A$9, ready to print or send the moment you pay.

A sample Bell or Bust gift voucher: a staff notice headed Staff Gift Allocation, made out to Ms Patel from Sam’s mum, with an unlock code and a QR code

Teachers finish the year with a tower of mugs and enough scented candles to light a power outage. This one goes in the card instead. Bell or Bust is a quick, very rude browser game about surviving one school day, from the car park at 7:52am to the 3pm bell, written by a secondary teacher of thirty years and narrated by Bev, Acting Deputy Principal.

The voucher unlocks the full game forever, on every device your teacher owns. No app to install, and nothing to dust.

How it works

  1. Pay at checkout and fill in two boxes: the teacher’s name, and who it’s from. Both are optional, and you can change them afterwards.
  2. Your voucher appears straight away. Download it, print it for the card, or save it to your phone and forward it. Bev emails you a link to it too.
  3. Your teacher scans the QR code (or types the code in at snarkyteacherstuff.com/redeem), signs Bev’s staff register, and the full game is theirs.
  4. They play it in the staffroom. Ideally not during your parent-teacher interview.

A word about the language

Bell or Bust is written for adults, and it swears like a staffroom in report-writing week. The voucher is squeaky clean, so it’s safe to hand over at the classroom door. If your teacher is more the gentle type, Bev’s printables come in a clean version.

Questions

Who can it be from?

Anyone. One parent, the whole class, a grandparent, a teaching mate, the teacher in the next classroom. Whatever you type in the “From” box prints on the voucher, so “Sam’s mum”, “The Year 4 parents”, “Grandma Pat” and “Your mate Jo” all work.

I’m buying for more than one teacher

Buy one voucher per teacher. Each purchase gets its own voucher page, so download or print each voucher before you buy the next one.

Does the code expire?

No. Hand it over on World Teachers’ Day, or whenever they’ve clearly had a week.

What if they already own the game?

Then they’ve got a spare code for a colleague. Bev’s voucher says not to regift. Bev is not in charge of anyone’s weekend.
